How to Clean a Pressure Cooker: Step-By-Step Guide for Safe and Easy Cleaning

How to clean a pressure cooker: step-by-step guide

Safety first

Ensure that the pressure cooker is completely cool before cleaning. Also, disconnect the cooker from any power sources.

Disassemble

Wash the removable parts with warm, soapy water. Use a mild dishwashing detergent and a soft sponge or brush to gently scrub away any food residue or stains. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry them completely before reassembling.

Clean the cooker body

Wipe the interior of the pressure cooker with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any food particles or residue. Pay special attention to the areas around the steam vent and the sealing ring groove.

Clean the sealing ring

Soak the sealing ring in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to loosen any debris. Gently scrub it with a soft brush to remove any remaining residue. Rinse it thoroughly and make sure it is completely dry before reattaching.

Clean the pressure release valve

If your pressure cooker has a detachable pressure release valve, remove it and clean it separately. Soak it in warm, soapy water, scrub gently, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before reattaching.

Check the steam vent

Use a brush or a small cleaning tool to clean the steam vent thoroughly. Ensure there are no blockages or debris that could affect the pressure cooker's functionality.

Wipe the exterior

Clean the exterior of the pressure cooker with a damp cloth or sponge to remove any dirt or stains. Use a stainless steel cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water for stainless steel exteriors to restore its shine.

Reassemble the pressure cooker

Once all the parts are clean and dry, reassemble the pressure cooker according to the photo taken in your mobile originally.

Keep your cooker safe, hygienic, and long-lasting.
